University Merit Calculator Pakistan 2026 — Free Aggregate Calculator

Calculate your admission aggregate (merit score) for MDCAT, UET ECAT, NUST NET, FAST-NUCES and KMU CAT using the formulas actually in force for the 2026 cycle. Includes a reverse target-solver: enter the aggregate you want, find out what test score you need.

How to use this merit calculator

  1. Pick the test you are applying through. Each university follows its own weightage formula — using the wrong one is the single most common error students make.
  2. Enter raw obtained and total marks exactly as printed on your result card or IBCC equivalence certificate. Never enter a percentage where marks are asked for.
  3. Read the preset note above the inputs — it tells you exactly which formula the tab applies, with its source and year.
  4. For UET ECAT Engineering: the 50% academic component uses your First Year (Part-I) marks only, not your combined FSc. For UET CS / Software Engineering / Architecture, use the separate 25/45/30 split.
  5. The aggregate is rounded to 4 decimal places (the UHS merit-list convention).
  6. Always confirm the formula against your admitting university's current prospectus before making decisions — weightages are revised every cycle.

Honesty notice: two popular formulas could not be confirmed from authoritative sources for 2026 and are not published as presets here. Use Custom weightage for them and verify with the official prospectus:
  • NUMS (army colleges): some sources say 50% FSc + 50% NUMS test with no Matric component; others say 10% Matric + 40% FSc + 50% NUMS test. Check the NUMS prospectus.
  • NUST NET: some sources say 10% Matric + 15% FSc + 75% NET; others say 75% NET + 25% FSc with no Matric. Check nust.edu.pk.

The master formula every tab uses is the same:

Aggregate % = (C1 obtained ÷ C1 total × W1) + (C2 obtained ÷ C2 total × W2) + (Test obtained ÷ Test total × W3)

Worked examples (every step shown)

Example 1 — MDCAT: Matric 1020/1100, FSc 960/1100, MDCAT 152/180

  • Matric component: 1020 ÷ 1100 × 10 = 9.2727
  • FSc component: 960 ÷ 1100 × 40 = 34.9091
  • MDCAT component: 152 ÷ 180 × 50 = 42.2222
  • Aggregate = 9.2727 + 34.9091 + 42.2222 = 86.4040%

Sensitivity check: raising MDCAT from 152 to 165 adds 13 marks × 0.2778 = 3.61 points — the same student would sit at about 90.01%. That is why the test carries half the weight: it is the component you can still move after board exams are over.

Example 2 — UET ECAT Engineering: Matric 950/1100, Part-I 470/550, ECAT 290/400

  • Matric component: 950 ÷ 1100 × 17 = 14.6818
  • Part-I component: 470 ÷ 550 × 50 = 42.7273
  • ECAT component: 290 ÷ 400 × 33 = 23.9250
  • Aggregate = 14.6818 + 42.7273 + 23.9250 = 81.3341%
Notice the Part-I trap: if this student had mistakenly used combined FSc (say 940/1100) instead of Part-I 470/550, the "50%" component would have computed (940 ÷ 1100) × 50 = 42.7273 — here identical only because the two years were balanced. Students with an unbalanced Part-I vs Part-II get materially wrong aggregates from this error.

Example 3 — What one extra mark is worth

ComponentValue of one extra markEquivalent in other marks
MDCAT (out of 180)(1 ÷ 180) × 50 = 0.2778%≈ 7.6 FSc marks ≈ 30.5 Matric marks
FSc (out of 1100)(1 ÷ 1100) × 40 = 0.0364%—
Matric (out of 1100)(1 ÷ 1100) × 10 = 0.0091%—

The ratio 0.2778 ÷ 0.0364 = 7.63: one MDCAT mark is worth roughly seven and a half FSc marks. This is the arithmetic behind the strategic rule "your test score is your biggest remaining lever."

7 mistakes that cost students a seat

  1. Using the wrong test total. MDCAT 2026 is out of 180, not 200. Stale pages from before 2022 still say 200 — every aggregate computed against 200 is wrong.
  2. Entering percentages instead of raw marks. The formula converts for you; if you enter 90% where it expects 990/1100 marks, you have applied the weightage twice.
  3. Using Part-II or combined FSc for UET ECAT Engineering. UET's 50% component is Part-I (First Year) marks only — the one error almost every thin calculator page makes.
  4. Applying the medical formula to the wrong test. 10/40/50 is PMDC's formula. NUST, FAST, UET and NUMS each have their own split — check the table above.
  5. Assuming the 10/40/50 formula covers NUMS. Army medical colleges and FMDC use their own formulas (see the honesty notice — the official prospectus decides).
  6. Confusing the qualifying floor with closing merit. 55% in MDCAT is only the eligibility floor for MBBS; public MBBS in Punjab closed around 93–96% in 2025-26.
  7. Rounding away precision. UHS publishes merit lists to 4 decimal places; thousands of students cluster inside one percentage point, so early rounding can hide where you really stand.

FAQs

What is the official MDCAT merit formula for 2026?

10% Matric + 40% FSc + 50% MDCAT, with the test out of 180 marks — under PMDC's Admissions Regulations 2025 and the UHS 2025-26 prospectus. It applies across public and private MBBS/BDS admissions unless a university notifies an exception.

Which UET ECAT formula applies to me?

For engineering programs: 17% Matric + 50% First Year (Part-I) + 33% ECAT. For CS, Software Engineering, Architecture and Product & Industrial Design: 25% Matric + 45% Intermediate + 30% entry test. Pick the wrong tab above and your number is fiction.

Does Matric count in my aggregate?

For most tests, yes (10% for MDCAT/FAST/NUST-style, 17% or 25% for UET). NED University is the notable exception — it excludes Matric entirely (40% FSc + 60% test). NUMS army colleges also exclude Matric under the 50/50 formula variant.

Is MDCAT 2026 out of 180 or 200?

180 — one mark per MCQ, no negative marking, held 20 September 2026. Pages saying 200 are stale.

How do O/A-Level students enter their marks?

Use the obtained and total figures printed on your IBCC equivalence certificate for the Matric-equivalent and FSc-equivalent lines. The weightage formula does not change for equivalence students.

What aggregate is "safe" for a government medical college?

There is no fixed safe number — it moves every year with seats and the applicant pool. As a guide, Punjab public MBBS closed roughly 93–96% in 2025-26 (KEMU highest at about 94.9%). Treat past closings as weather reports, not promises.

Does Hafiz-e-Quran add bonus marks?

Some older pages claim +20 marks. A check against PMDC's 2025 regulations and the UHS 2025-26 prospectus found no such bonus — so we do not add it. Confirm with your admitting university's current notice.

How is the aggregate rounded?

To 4 decimal places — UHS publishes merit lists at that precision. Enter your exact marks; let the calculator round at the end, not you at the start.
